Alert Digest & Cleanup Service
The Alert Digest & Cleanup Service is a two part service. The Alert Digest functionality notifies users of all the subscribed alerts accumulated since the last cleanup operation. After the alerts have been sent, the cleanup service enables you to periodically clear all dismissed alerts accumulated since the last cleanup operation, clearing up space in the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications database.
In order to use the Alert Digest & Cleanup Service, users need to be assigned a role with the View and Manage Alert Configurations permission.
To enable the Alert Digest & Cleanup Service:
1. | From the Alerts tab, under Alerts, click Alert Digest & Cleanup Service to display the Alert Digest & Alert Cleanup Service page. |
2. | For the Job Execution Interval setting, specify how often you want the alert cleanup operation to run. Type a positive integer in the first text box and select an interval from the list. |
3. | Set the Cleanup Status to Active to enable the service. |
4. | To be notified of all the subscribed alerts accumulated since the last cleanup operation was run, set the Digest Status to Active. When this option is set to Active, an email detailing all of the alerts in tabular format that were triggered since the last cleanup operation, is sent to the email address specified under Email Notification Properties. |
Note:It is mandatory that the Digest Status option be set to Active for the alert digest service to operate. If the option is kept as Inactive (set to Inactive by default), the alert digest is not enabled and the Alert Cleanup Service functions as it did before.
5. | Under Email Notification Properties, specify the email address that you want the alerts to be sent to. In the Send Email To field, multiple email IDs can be added, separated by commas (,) to receive alerts. |
6. | Click Save. |
Note:When the Alert Digest & Cleanup Service job runs, only those alerts that have been dismissed, either manually or automatically when the alert condition has been resolved, are deleted from the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications database. Alerts that are sent due to a server being down and still down the next time the alert condition is evaluated, cannot be cleared by the Alert Digest & Cleanup Service. This is because the problem responsible for the server being down or non-responsive still persists.
