Fix for the issue of inventory devices with IBM software installs incorrectly set to Ignored when linked to an asset which is retired/disposed

IT Asset Management version 2024 R2.2

Previously, inventory devices with IBM software installations were incorrectly set to Ignored instead of being updated to Archived when linked to an asset which was already retired or disposed. This error also occurred when aforementioned inventory devices received inventory.

This error led to the prevention of expected historic consumption from IBM PVU and VPC licenses prior to the asset being retired/disposed.

This release solves this issue. From this release, the inventory device status will be updated to Archived when linked to an asset that is retired or disposed even if inventory is received.

Tip: The status of an inventory device can be viewed from the All Inventory page. The status Archive means the device is in transition pending deletion, but is currently held because of its historical impacts on IBM PVU sub-capacity retrospective calculations. The Ignored status means that the device is not managed, and the ignored device is not considered in license consumption calculations.
