Adding or Editing a Custom Metric

IT Asset Management (Cloud)

This applies only for IBM RVU, Custom Metric, Oracle Named User Plus and Oracle Processor license types.

To add or edit a custom metric:

1. Select the Identification tab.
2. Click the down arrow at the right end of the Metric drop-down list.
   At the bottom of the drop-down list, there is a link to Add/Edit custom metric.
3. Click the Add/Edit custom metric link.
   The link is replaced with a small pane that allows editing the metric name.
4. Do one of the following:
   • To add a new metric, type its name into the Metric type field in this pane, then click Save. (After a few seconds, the drop-down list closes, and your new value displays for the Metric.)
   • To delete a metric that you have previously created, scroll to the bottom of the drop-down list to see your custom entries, and click the one to remove. Wait a moment for its name to appear in the Metric type field, and then click Delete. A confirmation message displays in the same pane, and you can confirm by clicking Delete again. (If this value had been selected as the Metric, the field is now cleared, and you may create or choose a different custom metric.)
   • To edit the name of a metric that you have previously created, scroll to the bottom of the drop-down list to see your custom entries, and click the one toupdate. When the value appears in the Metric type field in this pane, edit the name as appropriate, and then click Save. Because this name change affects every license using the metric, a confirmation message displays, and you can confirm by clicking Save again.
