Deleting a Beacon

You can delete the record of an existing inventory beacon from IT Asset Management.
Important: This removes the registration of the inventory beacon from your compliance database, but it does not uninstall the FlexNet Beacon software from the inventory beacon, nor disable that software at the inventory beacon itself. The inventory beacon to which the deleted record referred still keeps making unsuccessful attempts to connect to IT Asset Management. You can prevent that behavior by clearing the Enable parent connection check box on the inventory beacon (see Parent Connection Tab).

To delete an inventory beacon record:

  1. Go to the Beacons page.
    IT Asset Management displays the Beacons page.
  2. In the Actions column against the inventory beacon record, click the delete icon to delete the inventory beacon record.
    IT Asset Management displays a warning message to confirm the deletion.
  3. Click OK to delete the inventory beacon.
