Disabling a Connection

FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R1 (On-Premises Edition)

You can temporarily disable a connection, so that you can restore it at a convenient future time. This is different from deleting the connection, because deletion is completely destructive, and all details are removed. Disabling and enabling allow you to control the times when a connection is in use, without losing its set-up details. To enable a connection, you schedule it (see Scheduling a Connection). To disable the connection, choose the null schedule, as follows. Follow this process within the user interface for FlexNet Beacon.

Remember: When the inventory beacon is co-installed on the batch server, only the Active Directory connections are managed through the beacon's internal scheduling. On the batch server, all connections (other than Active Directory) are triggered by Windows Scheduled Tasks; and all such tasks show in the inventory beacon interface as Not scheduled.

To disable a connection:

  1. In the navigation pane, select the page for the type of connection you wish to schedule.
  2. From the list of connections displayed, select the row for the connection you want to schedule.
  3. Click Schedule....
    The Select Schedule dialog opens.
  4. To disable your connection, choose Not scheduled from the drop-down list of existing schedules.
  5. Click OK to update the list of connections, and click Save to store the details.
This connection will not trigger automatically again until you return and re-schedule it. (Of course, you can still use the Execute Now button on the connection list page.)
