Workflow Manager 2014
Workflow families are used to group workflow requests into categories, allowing you to sort them easily. You can create new workflow families while you are completing or submitting workflow requests.
To create a new workflow family:
1. | Either submit a new workflow request, or (if you are an administrator) open the Properties tab of the Workflow Progress page for an existing request: |
• | If you are a workflow consumer, open the Workflows group in the navigation bar and click Submit Workflow Request in the Workflow Request subgroup. The Submit Workflow Request page opens. |
• | If you are a workflow administrator, do one of the following: |
• | To open an existing workflow, open the Workflows group in the navigation bar and click Workflows by Project to open the Workflows by Project page. Find the project your request belongs to in the list and click its Select link to open the Project Summary page. Find your workflow request in the list and click its Select hyperlink to open the Workflow Progress page. Select the Properties tab. |
• | To submit a new workflow request, open the Workflows group in the navigation bar and click Submit Workflow Request in the Workflow Request subgroup. The Submit Workflow Request page opens. |
2. | Click the Create New button next to the Workflow Family field. The Create Workflow Family page appears in a new browser window. |
Note: If you are a workflow consumer and the administrator company associated with this project was created with the Is a Workflow Family Owner? option selected, the Create New button will not appear. It will be available only when a workflow administrator is submitting a workflow request against the project. See Creating a New Company for more information about this option.
3. | Enter the name for your new workflow family in the text field, then click Add. The Create Workflow Family dialog closes and your new family is added to the Workflow Family combo box. |
Note: There is one other way to add workflow families. If you are a workflow administrator, and you create a new company, you will be able to open the Create Workflow Family dialog by clicking the Add Family link on its Company/Business Unit Details page. See Company/Business Unit Details Page for more information.
