Important • If you are connected to an Application Catalog database that was created by AdminStudio, Application Readiness Process Template will not be listed on the Template Administration page. To enable this workflow template, run the following script:

The phases and steps in this workflow template demonstrate a standardized method for getting enterprise applications tested, packaged and deployed into the enterprise environment. The process consists of six phases:

Phase |
Description |

Identify |
Obtain an accurate view of all applications deployed across the enterprise, and determine which are being used and which are not being used. |

Rationalize |
Eliminate unused and duplicate applications. Applications are classified and sorted by type so that duplicate versions and multiple vendors within each type can be identified and consolidated. Also, identify and remove applications that have reached their end of life. |

Compatibility Test |
Before introducing new or updated applications into the enterprise environment, perform application compatibility testing with the targeted environment. If implementing application virtualization, determine the application virtualization suitability of the selected applications. |

Plan |
Determine target environments and packaging formats. Scope and budget for application rollouts and desktop transformations. |
|
Fix, Package, and Test |
Fix applications that presented issues during the compatibility testing phase so that they work on the target platform. If implementing application virtualization, convert applications to the required format for the chosen vendor’s technology. |

Deploy |
Perform automated deployment directly to your configuration management system, mobile device manager, or enterprise app store. |
