FlexNet Manager Suite
2022 R1

the uploaded data into the compliance database. This is delivered in the
Technopedia folder in the Adapter
Tools archive for this release.

The Technopedia folder contains a new reader that imports
updated data into the compliance database – in a multi-server
implementation, copy this folder to your batch server.
-
Switch to your batch server (or, in smaller implementations, the
server hosting this functionality), and copy the
Technopedia folder to this location:
C:\ProgramData\Flexera
Software\Compliance\ImportProcedures\Inventory\Reader.
Tip: This folder also includes a new connection folder for your
inventory beacons, which is then distributed automatically to all
inventory beacons along with beacon policy (by default,
distribution to inventory beacons starts within about 15 minutes of
the batch server being updated). Once the folder exists on an
inventory beacon, the Technopedia
option is automatically available in the Source Type
drop-down menu as you create a new SQL database connection.
You can verify overall success after a short wait for the update to be
delivered to your chosen inventory beacon, by identifying the entry in
the Source Type drop-down menu when you are
configuring the connection to Technopedia (see Configure the Technopedia Connector).
When the enabling code is successfully installed on your
central batch server (or server hosting that functionality), you can configure
the Technopedia connector itself on a suitably-placed inventory beacon that has
received the latest policy update. The process is a little simpler if you first have a
schedule prepared on which the connector can operate, so start with Schedule Imports from Technopedia.
