Application Dependencies

Note:The Flexera One platform and its IT Visibility capabilities are instrumental to the functionality of the Flexera One ServiceNow app. For details about the Flexera One platform and IT Visibility, see the Flexera One Help Library.

In addition to requiring a Flexera One subscription and Flexera One’s IT Visibility capabilities (including the enhanced export functionality), the Flexera One ServiceNow app has dependencies on the following system plugins. These must be installed separately.

The Flexera One ServiceNow app requires the Software Asset Management (SAM) Foundation plugin (or the SAM Core plugin). If the SAM Foundation plugin or another version of SAM is not currently installed, you must request the SAM Foundation plugin from ServiceNow. (There are no licensing costs associated with this plugin.) For information, refer to ServiceNow’s documentation: Setting up Software Asset Management Foundation plugin.

Note:While the ServiceNow Store will show SAM Core as a dependency as well as SAM Foundation, you only need one of those two plugins and not both.

Important:If you have software installation records that were previously discovered before the installation of the SAM Foundation plugin, you must run a migration script after installing the SAM Foundation plugin; otherwise these records will be missing in ServiceNow. This is because installing the SAM Foundation plugin disables the [cmdb_software_instance] and [cmdb_ci_spkg] tables. The migration script can copy the data from these legacy tables to the new SAM tables.
