Alert Action

To instruct App Portal to generate alerts, you create, and modify, alert action catalog items, which are a specialized type of catalog item that uses FlexNet Manager Suite application recognition and licensing data to identify installed application/device combinations that need attention, such as unused applications, unlicensed applications, or applications targeted for another reason. App Portal then sends out alerts to the identified device owners to prompt them to take action to resolve the issues.

On the Alert Action view, you can convert a General catalog item to an Alert Action catalog item.

First you create a general catalog item and assign it an application to target on the FlexNet Manager Suite > Alert Action Targets tab of the Catalog Item Properties dialog box.

Then, to convert that general catalog item to an alert action catalog item, first open the Alert Action view:

Next, double-click the alert action that you want to add to the general catalog item to open the Alert Action Properties dialog box.

Then, select a general catalog item from the General Catalog list and click Save. That general catalog item would then be listed on the Alert Action Catalog Items view.
