App Portal 2020 R1

App Portal provides out-of-the-box localization support for its customer user interface, providing a choice of the following 14 languages:

Chinese (Simplified)
Dutch
English
French
German
Italian
Japanese
Korean
Portuguese
Portuguese (Brazil)
Russian
Spanish
Spanish (Mexico)
Thai

App Portal’s localization support includes the following features:

End user screens and email notifications—The localization support applies to the end user screens and the notifications/email messages.
Ability to localize questions and answers—App Portal also provides you with an interface to localize the questions and answers that you associate with a catalog item request. The out-of-the-box questions and answers that are shipping with the product are already translated.
Language auto-detected by browser—App Portal will automatically detect the language of the requesting browser from the user’s culture settings and display that language. It will not be necessary for the end user to make a selection to change the displayed language.
Ability to add support for additional languages—If you want to display App Portal’s end user interface in a language other than those 14 that are supported, App Portal provides you with an interface to upload translated text in additional languages.

Additional language are activated on the Languages view.

Communication > Languages View

On the Languages view, all activated languages are listed. To activate an additional language, click the drop down list under Available Languages, select one or more additional languages, and then click Add.

Activating an Additional Language on the Languages View

The language that App Portal uses is determined by the browser culture settings of the user. However, some notifications are sent outside of the browser’s session, such as a successful installation email. The site does not know what the language of the target user is.

You can create collections to help identify the proper language to use in these cases. Collections starting with the prefix ESD_Language_<LanguageName> will show in the list. Select the collection that matches the selected language from the Select Collection list
