Specifying Computer Variables
On the Variables tab of the Role Properties dialog box, you can specify variables that can be used by the task sequence process that delivers the applications specified in this role.
To specify computer variables for a role:

Open the Variables tab of the Role Properties dialog box. |

Click the Add Variable button. The Variable Properties dialog box opens, prompting you to do one of the following: |

Select or enter an MDT variable value from the Select or enter a variable name list: |

Select or enter an App Portal variable value from the Select or enter the variables Value list: |

You also have the option to select to mask a variable’s value by selecting the Mask variable value option. |

From the Apply these variables list, select whether to apply the variable to the Source, Target, or Both. |

Use the Apply to build type list to specify under which conditions you apply the variable: Not Specified, Bare Metal Build, In-Place Migration, or Side-by-Side Migration. |

Click Add Variable. A message appears stating that the variable was updated successfully. |

Close the Variable Properties dialog box. The new variable is now listed on the Variables tab. |
