Creating Saved Views
Almost every page of IT Asset Management enables you to apply filters to show only the desired records (see Using Filters to Limit Data Size. For example, you can apply filters on the All licenses page to view the licenses allocated to inventory devices present in Melbourne location. The filters must be changed to view another set of records such as viewing SQL Server licenses available in Europe. Because a page can only preserve the most recent filters and view settings, you have to reapply the same set of filters and settings to view the same set of records.
The Save view as feature of IT Asset Management enables you to create customized views of a page by saving the current state of the user interface settings applied on the page. For example, you can create a personalized view of the All Inventory page to show only Oracle servers installed in the US, and another one to show all virtual machines hosted in Europe. You can access these preserved views through the Saved Views page. When you click the Save view as link on the top right corner of a page, IT Asset Management saves the current state of the page and makes it accessible from the Saved Views page (see Saved Views). When you create a saved view, IT Asset Management saves the following settings:
•
Simple filters, header filters, and advanced filters |
•
Columns and their order in the table |
•
