Adding KPIs
Note:
IT Visibility is being upgraded with the introduction of Technology Intelligence Platform beginning in September 2024. Flexera will contact you directly regarding the timeframe of your upgrade. With Technology Intelligence Platform, out-of-the-box IT Visibility dashboards are being replaced with new, enhanced IT Visibility Technology Intelligence Platform reports. For more information, see IT Visibility With Technology Intelligence Platform Reports.
KPIs are measurements that evaluate the success of an organization in a particular activity.
To add KPIs to the dashboard:
1.
Go to the Add Dashboard page (IT Visibility > Dashboard > New Dashboard). |
2.
Drag the Key Performance Indicator item to the dashboard. The Configuration properties box opens. |
3.
Select a metric to display. |
4.
In the Configuration section, you can: |
•
Change the description by selecting the description from the dropdown list. By default, the description displays as Inherit. If you select the Custom option, you can add a custom text. Selecting None does not display the description. |
Note:The description displays when you click the question mark next to the KPI name when you reopen this dashboard after saving it.
•
Filter the metric by different attributes by selecting any option in the Filter by section. |
•
Compare data with the previous period or the same period in previous year by selecting an option from the Compare with dropdown list. You can also select whether to display the increasing number in red or green. |
•
Select a dashboard in the Drill Into Dashboard section to view values from a new perspective. A pixel-perfect dashboard opens when you click the KPI. |
5.
To add a title and description to a section of the dashboard, in the Add Title here and Add Description here fields, enter the title and description, respectively. |
Note:The maximum length of the title is 50 characters; the maximum length of the description is 300 characters.
7.
To add a name for the dashboard, in the Untitled field, type the folder name and dashboard name using the following syntax: <folder-name>/<dashboard-name>. |
Note: Consider the following:
•
IT Visibility enables you to group your dashboards into folders. When saving a newly created dashboard, you must create or designate a folder for it when you name the dashboard. |
•
All dashboards must be saved in a folder. If you attempt to create a dashboard without a folder name, it will be stored in the Uncategorized folder. |
