Data Catalog Attribute Descriptions

In Data Explorer (IT Visibility > Dashboard > Data Explorer), you can customize the datasets for your visualizations by dragging attributes from the Data Catalog into the active drop zone on the canvas. The following tables provide attribute descriptions to help with your selection.

Business Services Applications

This table describes the attributes listed in the Business Services Applications section of the Data Catalog.

Attribute

Description

(H) Business Service ID

Attribute used to uniquely identify the business service that has a group of hardware associated to it.

(H) Business Service Name

Unique naming convention to identify the business service that has a group of hardware associated to it.

Business Service ID

Attribute used to uniquely identify the business service.

Department

Refers to the department that owns or is responsible for a particular application stack.

Description

Describes the application, its purpose, and other relevant metadata.

Group Type

Is also known as infrastructure service groups. Servers in these groups match an existing profile for the particular application group they are placed.

Owner

Refers to the person responsible for the application.

Business Services Assets

This table describes the attributes listed in the Business Services Assets section of the Data Catalog.

Description

Asset ID

Attribute used to uniquely identify the asset.

Asset Location

Retains the IP address location for the asset.

Business Service Asset ID

Attribute used to uniquely identify the business service asset.

Business Services Dependent Applications

This table describes the attributes listed in the Business Services Dependent Applications section of the Data Catalog.

Attribute

Description

Critical

Refers to critical connectivity that plays a role in application or supporting system communication such as Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL, or known application traffic such as SAP.

Dependent Business Service ID

Attribute used to uniquely identify the dependent application that is connected to the business service.

Dependent Business Service Name

Unique naming convention to identify the dependent application that is connected to the business service.
