Modifying a Previously Saved SBOM Parts Search

Use the following procedure to update and save an existing SBOM parts search.

Note:Only the creator of an existing search can save the changes to the search. A user who is not the creator of the search can modify the search’s criteria but must save the changes to a new search name, as mentioned below (and described in more detail in Creating and Saving a New SBOM Parts Search).

To modify a saved search:

1. Access the Advanced SBOM Parts Search slideout, using the instructions in Getting Started with an SBOM Parts Search.
2. From the Searches dropdown on the Advanced SBOM Parts Search slideout, select the search whose criteria you want to modify. The criteria for the selected search populates the fields.
3. Modify the criteria as needed, or click Clear Form to remove all existing criteria and start from scratch. See Criteria Fields for an SBOM Parts Search for a description of each field.
4. Click Save to open the Save Search pop-up and save the changes:
If you are the creator of the selected search, either click Save on the pop-up to save the changes to the current search, or enter a new unique name in the Name field on the pop-up to save the changes to a new search and click Save.
If you are not the creator of the selected search, enter a new unique name in the Name field on the pop-up to save the changes to a new search and click Save. (You asked to provide a new name before you can save the search.)

You are returned to the Advanced SBOM Parts Search slideout, showing the criteria for the updated search. (If you saved the changes to a new search, select the new search from the Searches dropdown list to verify it.)

5. (Optional) Click Search.

The Manage SBOM Parts page is automatically refreshed to show the results of the new search. From here, you can continue with step 3 in the previous “Viewing SBOM Parts” topic to explore details about the SBOM parts.
