Setting Activity Thresholds

Setting activity thresholds offers you the flexibility in defining the number of days before a user is considered inactive to align with your organization’s expectation of SaaS license usage. The default activity threshold is 60 days. You can customize your activity threshold to 15, 30, 60, 90, or 120 days.

You can select the activity threshold when adding a new SaaS application to SaaS Management (refer to Adding an Application to Your Organization’s List of Managed SaaS Applications) or after the SaaS application has been added to SaaS Management (refer to Selecting an Activity Threshold).

Note:Not all applications allow for custom activity threshold. “Not applicable” will appear in the Activity Threshold drop-down menu for applications without activity threshold options.

For more expensive applications or applications expected to have daily usage, such as Salesforce or Office 365, you may select a 15-day Activity Threshold. For applications with expected infrequent usage, such as a training application like Pluralsight, you may select a 60-day Activity Threshold.

Important:You must have the SaaS Management role of Administrator and/or Application Administrator to customize your activity threshold.

Selecting an Activity Threshold

Follow the steps below to select an activity threshold for your managed SaaS applications after they have been integrated with SaaS Management. To select the activity threshold when adding a new SaaS application to SaaS Management, refer to Adding an Application to Your Organization’s List of Managed SaaS Applications).

To select an activity threshold after integrating a SaaS application with SaaS Management:

1. From the SaaS menu, click Managed SaaS Applications. The Managed SaaS Applications screen appears.
2. Click the appropriate SaaS application instance link, which opens the application’s Overview tab by default.
3. Click the Application Details link in the upper-right corner to open the Application Details slideout.
4. Click the Edit button.
5. In the Activity Threshold field, change the default Activity Threshold value of 60 days to your desired activity threshold.
6. Click Save. After saving the desired activity threshold, this value will appear in the application’s Overview tab and adjust your usage data for all application activity throughout the SaaS Management interface.
