Reporting on Product Usage
As part of its investment planning functionality, FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications provides product-based usage reporting. These are Cognos report definitions that provide reports and graphs based on product usage rather than on feature usage.
To facilitate product usage–based reporting, FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications maps the usage of licensed features to the products with which the features are associated. You must provide the feature-to-product association, which you can do by adding features to products or assigning unassigned features to products. (You can also specify these associations using a product definition XML file.)
FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications uses the product usage aggregation process to determine which features combine to create usage for which product.
FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications offers several predefined product usage reports.
