Administering Roles and Permissions
Roles are sets of permissions that enable users to access functionality and carry out tasks in FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications. Permissions are defined by FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications to govern user access. To perform a task using FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications, a user needs one or more of these permissions.
Permissions are not assigned to users directly: Permissions are grouped into roles and FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications users are assigned one or more roles. Roles are either system-defined or user-defined. System-defined roles cannot be edited by any users.
A role is defined on a context, or source of data for FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications. The default data source is the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications database.
