Importing Tier Definitions Using XML

You can use define tiers in FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications by importing an XML file containing the tier definitions. The import can be initiated in two ways:

From the command line

Using the Add Tiers page

Importing tier definitions is the recommended way to create tiers. Your vendor typically will provide you with a predefined XML file that you can import. After importing the XML file, you can use the Edit Tier page in the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications user interface to make incremental changes to your tier definitions.

Important:The XML file must contain a complete list of tier-feature definitions. The import will delete all previously created tier definitions from FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications. You will need to run aggregation after importing the definitions.
