Flexera Analytics Reporting

As FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications accumulates more and more usage data for your organization, you may want to provide interactive or dynamic, fast-performing reporting mechanisms. FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications includes access to Flexera Analytics functionality, which is powered by IBM Cognos Business Intelligence. Flexera Analytics uses a different structure to model data than that used for Classic reporting, so it can deliver reports much more quickly.

To generate Flexera Analytics reports, use the Cognos functionality available from the Flexera Analytics section under the Reporting tab. To access help for Cognos, you can view documentation for both Query Studio and Report Studio, available from the Flexera Software Product and License Center
(https://flexerasoftware.flexnetoperations.com) or from the IBM website at
http://www.ibm.com/analytics/us/en/technology/cognos-software.

Before you can run Flexera Analytics reports, you must aggregate your usage data to populate the data warehouse. See the topic, Report Data Aggregation, for information.

Note:The Flexera Analytics section under the Reporting navigation tab is displayed only if Flexera Analytics has been configured, and if the user has a role with the Assign Cognos Roles permission, the Run and Cancel Aggregation permission, and/or has been assigned a Cognos role. The user must have a Cognos role to run reports using Flexera Analytics. See the section, Cognos Roles, for more information.
