Working with RL Parsers

RL Parsers enable you to unscramble report log files (RL files) generated by Flexera's FlexNet Publisher (FNP) license server and save decrypted RL files in a JSON file. Decrypted JSON files contain comprehensive details about your server activities, including checkouts, check-ins, denials, usage levels, and are organized by vendor and product.

The RL Parser Summary page displays a list of all RL Parsers integrated with FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications. From this page you can add and manage multiple RL Parsers running on different vendor daemon license server machines.

RL files and JSON files are generated and accessible on the vendor daemon license server machine. FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications administrators can copy these files for their own reporting transformation logic by using a file manager.

To view RL Parsers managed by FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications:

From the Servers tab, under Agents, click RL Parser Summary.

The following information is displayed on this page:

•

RL Parser name. You can click the RL Parser name to edit the RL Parser settings.

•

Port@host information for each vendor daemon license server machine.

•

Status of the RL Parser—whether the RL Parser is up or down. If the status is up, you can click down to stop the RL Parser. If the status is down, you can click up to start the RL Parser.

•

RL Parser version for the vendor daemon license server machine.

You can also add an RL Parser by clicking the Adding RL Parsers button on this page.

Searching for RL Parsers

You can search for an RL Parser by parser name, host name, or status.

To search for an RL Parser:

Enter a string in the Search for field in the upper-right corner of the page.

To limit the scope of your search, select an option from the Search in list.
