Adding a Dependent SAP System

IT Asset Management (Cloud)
Before you can add dependent SAP systems, you must have added the SAP Admin module that these dependent SAP systems connect to. For more information, see Adding an SAP Admin Module System.

Use the System Landscape Editor to add dependent SAP systems that are connected to an SAP Admin module system to the system landscape. Dependent SAP systems can be CUA systems or non-CUA systems.

This topic is relevant only if you are using FlexNet Manager for SAP Applications in an on-premises implementation. For adding a dependent SAP system in a Cloud implementation, see Creating SAP Connections.

To add a dependent SAP system, you initially create an independent SAP system that you add to an SAP Admin module. When you add this system to an SAP Admin module, the system becomes a dependent SAP system.

Tip: You can also use this procedure to change an independent SAP system into a dependent SAP system.

To add a dependent SAP system to an SAP Admin module:

  1. Go to the SAP System Landscapes page (Data Collection > IT Assets Inventory Tasks > SAP System Landscapes).
  2. On the SAP System Landscapes page, double-click the landscape that contains the SAP Admin module to which the system that you want to add is connected.
The System Landscape: name page displays.
  3. Go to the SAP Systems section and click Add.
The Select system type dialog displays with the SAP option pre-selected.
  4. Click OK.
The Create New System page displays with the Independent SAP system option pre-selected in the Connectivity section.
  5. Complete as many of the following field as possible with the system information that you have available.

We recommend that you upgrade to the IT Asset Management version 2019 R1 or later if your SAP landscape does include S/4HANA dependent SAP system as this will allow you to view your complete SAP system.
