Cores Limit

IT Asset Management (Cloud)

Specify the maximum number of processor cores allowed for computers that have this licensed software installed. If a computer has the right number of cores, or fewer, then a license is consumed by the installation. It does not matter whether the cores are on a single processor or across multiple processors.

If any of these computers has more cores than the number defined on the license properties, that installation is treated as an out-of-bounds installation, and does not consume from this license. If there are no other relevant licenses available, you can see these installations in the list of unlicensed installations.

Note: Some software can be configured to use a subset of the cores on a system, for example assigning software to use the processing power of only two cores on a computer that has four cores installed. In such cases, licenses will still be consumed according to the total number of cores on the system, not the number of cores the software is configured to use.

Only available for Device (Core-Limited) licenses.
