Overview of Flexera One SaaS Management to IT Asset Management Integration

IT Asset Management (Cloud)

Before the integration between Flexera One SaaS Management and IT Asset Management, SaaS license and usage data was discovered and managed within Flexera One SaaS Management, but not shared with IT Asset Management. This lack of data transfer resulted in an incomplete compliance view for hybrid applications.

With the new integration, Flexera One SaaS Management now transmits license and usage data for cloud applications directly to IT Asset Management. This enhances visibility and enables better optimisation of hybrid application usage and compliance.

Flexera One SaaS Management to IT Asset Management workflow(s)

The following steps outline the workflow for new SaaS customers integrating Flexera One SaaS Management with IT Asset Management:

1. New SaaS customers are entitled to Flexera One SaaS Management only.
2. Users can access the integration option through the IT Asset Management user interface (UI).
3. Users enable the integration between Flexera One SaaS Management and IT Asset Management by way of the UI.
   Note: For steps on how to enable the integration, see Enabling Integration in IT Asset Management Settings: Integrations Tab.
4. Once enabled, all license and application usage data from Flexera One SaaS Management is transmitted to IT Asset Management according to your chosen schedule, for example, on a daily basis or twice weekly.
5. The data transfer from Flexera One SaaS Management to IT Asset Management is scheduled to occur 4 hours prior to the IMImport process, which handles data reconciliation in IMImport.

The following steps outline the workflow for existing SaaS customers integrating Flexera One SaaS Management with IT Asset Management:

1. Existing SaaS customers are entitled to both Flexera One SaaS Management and FlexNet SaaS Manager.
2. Users can access the integration option through the IT Asset Management user interface (UI) to switch from FlexNet SaaS Manager to Flexera One SaaS Management.
3. Users enable the integration between Flexera One SaaS Management and IT Asset Management via the UI.

4. Once enabled, all license and application usage data from Flexera One SaaS Management is transmitted to IT Asset Management on a daily basis.
5. The data transfer from Flexera One SaaS Management to IT Asset Management is scheduled to occur 4 hours prior to the IMImport process, which handles data reconciliation in IT Asset Management.
6. Concurrently, all license and application usage data transfers from FlexNet SaaS Manager to IT Asset Management will be stopped.

How to Confirm Successful Transmission of SaaS licenses from Flexera One SaaS Management to IT Asset Management

To verify that SaaS licenses have been successfully sent from Flexera One SaaS Management to IT Asset Management:

• The source type will be listed as Flexera One SaaS Management in the license records received from Flexera One SaaS Management.
• The license type will match the format used in FlexNet SaaS Manager, with two possible values:
  • Named User Type
  • SaaS User Type
