Create a Discovered Device

FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R1 (On-Premises Edition)
The Discovery & Inventory > Discovered Device Properties page (in the Discovery group) enables you to create discovered devices manually. You may need to add a device manually when it was not discovered by the discovery process for any reason, such as the device was out of network or it was powered off at the time of discovery. You many also need to add a discovered device if you plan to buy a device and need to enter its details in the system. You can choose to create a discovered device in any of the following ways:
  • Select the Create a Discovered Device option from the Discovery & Inventory menu
  • Click the Create a discovered device button on the Unmanaged Devices page
  • Click the Create a discovered device button on the All Discovered Devices page.

    The Discovered Device Properties page appears when you select any of the options listed above. This page has the following tabs:

  • General (see General Tab)
  • Advanced (see Advanced Tab)
  • Databases (see Databases Tab)

    Enter the values for the fields and click Create to create a discovered device.

The Status and the Inventory evidence tabs appear on a successful discovered device creation. (See Status Tab and Inventory Evidence Tab)
