Applications Tab
This tab lists the applications and products covered by this license (see application and product). You may use this tab for the following activities:
- Review the list of applications automatically attached to this license by the calculation of upgrade and downgrade rights
- Manually manage the links between applications and this license (see Managing Applications Linked To a License)
- Create a multi-product license by adding applications from different product families to this license
- (For a multi-product license) Convert a multi-product license to a single-product license by keeping applications that belong to only one product family, and removing all others from this license.
The first application linked to the license determines the product family for the license. Where upgrade and downgrade rights apply to the license, other versions of the same application are linked to the license automatically. As new applications versions are released and identified in the ARL, licenses that include upgrade rights see the new versions automatically attached, so that the list of applications may change over time.
Restrictions
This tab is not displayed for the following license types:
- SAP Named User licenses: these are not specific to an application, and instead license the level of usage of SAP
- SAP Package licenses: these are not installed onto the operating system but rather into the SAP environment.

This section enables you to manage applications linked to this license (see Managing Applications Linked To a License). The grid displays the applications that are currently linked to this license.List of application properties

Application | The application's name, which may be:
You can edit this on the General tab of the application properties when Local is displayed in the Source column (which means the application was added manually by an operator). |
Category | The broad function of the application, by default from the UN Standard Products and Services Code. For local applications, this field is editable in the General tab of the application properties. (Additional custom categories can be created in .) |
Classification | The type of software, especially as it relates to licensing (freeware, commercial and so on). Visible on the General tab of the application properties. It is editable only for applications with a Source value of Local. |
Edition | The edition of an application, as specified by the publisher of this application. Visible on the General tab of the application properties. It is editable only for applications with a Source value of Local. |
Evidence capability | Most application evidence is used to identify whether an application is
installed on a device. Some evidence may identify whether the application was accessed by a
user. This column identifies the kinds of evidence so far linked to the application, with
the following values:

Extended | Displays Yes when the application originated in the Application Recognition Library, but someone in your enterprise has added extra evidence to the application definition. A No means the application comes from the Application Recognition Library and is unchanged. Not editable. Updated automatically when evidence is linked to the application defined by the Application Recognition Library. |
Flexera ID | A generated code that uniquely identifies all application records, and can be used for integration between products from Flexera. This data is read-only. This is true for both applications sourced locally and those from the Application Recognition Library. |
Installed | The count of installations of this application, calculated from evidence
matched in the last imported inventory.
Tip: This count excludes any
installations on inventory devices for which the Status
has been set to Ignored (in the General tab of the inventory
device properties). This is the count of installations on
Active inventory devices.
The Installed count is not editable, and is recalculated after each inventory import. |
Product | The basic name of the application, excluding the publisher and references to versions or editions. This field displays the value Multiple products for multi-product licenses that have multiple primary products. See Multi-Product License. Product names are supplied by the Application Recognition Library and are not editable. New product names created within your enterprise are editable in the General tab of the application properties. |
Publisher | The name of the publisher of this software, responsible for its development and distribution. For application records that you create manually, Publisher is editable in the General tab of the application properties. For applications supplied through the Application Recognition Library, the Publisher field is not editable. |
Source | The origin of an application record:
Not editable. |
Suite |
Displays Yes if this application is a suite (that is, contains child applications), and otherwise No. Remember that a non-suite (has no children) may itself be a member of a suite. For example, Adobe Creative Suite® is a suite, Adobe Photoshop is not, and Photoshop can be a member of Creative Suite. Editable in the Suite and member section of the Evidence tab in the application properties. |
Usage | The count of devices on which inventory shows that usage tracking is turned on, and the application has been used. Not editable. |
Version | The release number (or release identifier) of an application. Enter the version, or release number, of an application.
Important: You cannot
edit the value of a version. If a version is already displayed, and you modify its value,
you are effectively adding a new version. If you are modifying existing application
entries, you might need to adjust version priorities because they control automatic
upgrades and downgrades for licenses that convey the product use rights. To associate a
