Workflow Manager 6.5

Work your way through the following steps so that you can begin using Workflow Manager to submit workflow requests.

To initialize Workflow Manager:

1. Log in to Workflow Manager using an account belonging to the default System Administrator role for the Workflow Administrator company. The default account created for this role is called admin@company.com and has the password admin. See Default System Accounts for more information.
2. A default Workflow Consumer company is created to group together roles and accounts for all those people who need to submit workflow requests. If you would prefer to further differentiate between your workflow consumers, you may wish to create additional companies. For example, you could create a Sales Department company to hold accounts for all consumers in your sales team. See Creating a New Company for details.
3. Customize the default workflow consumer and administrator roles created during the installation of Workflow Manager so they suit the needs of your enterprise. You may also create new roles if required. Refer to Role Management for more information.
4. Create any additional workflow consumer and administrator accounts that you might require. See Creating a New Account for details.
5. [For FlexNet Manager Platform Users] By default, a web service connection is created to your FlexNet Manager Platform installation, to enable you to pull information from that system in order to complete workflow requests. You may need to adjust the authentication method used by this web service, or update the web service URL if it has been installed in a non-standard location. Refer to Managing External Web Services for more information.
6. Create one or more templates to base your workflow requests on (see Creating a New Template for details). You may also choose to copy one of the existing default templates supplied for you during your installation. Refer to Review the Lifecycle of a Workflow Request for more information.
7. Create a project, and assign it to one of your templates. See Creating a New Project for details.
