Flexera Integration

You enter Flexera Service Gateway, FlexNet Manager Suite, ServiceNow, Remedy, Orchestrator Service, and Workflow Manager settings on the Site Management > Settings > Flexera Integration view on the Admin tab.

The Site Management > Settings > Flexera Integration view includes the following properties.

Enable App Portal API

Select to enable the App Portal API (http://server/esd/api.asmx) to be accessible. By default, this option is not selected.

Note:You should modify NTFS permissions on the api.asmx file to prevent unauthorized access prior to enabling the API.

Enable Advanced License Check with FlexNet Manager Suite

Select this option to instruct App Portal to consider not only available licenses during license check, but also second use rights, upgrade/downgrade rights, and exemption by device role rights (such as an MSDN subscription), all based upon information stored in FlexNet Manager Suite. For more information, see Performing Advanced License Check.

Flexera Service Gateway Server Name

If you have also purchased FlexNet Manager Suite, you can use App Portal to manage application licenses. App Portal communicates with FlexNet Manager Suite via the Flexera Service Gateway component. To connect App Portal to the Flexera Service Gateway, enter the name of your Flexera Service Gateway server.

FNMS Tenant UID (MSP Only)

If using a multi-tenant instance of FlexNet Manager Suite, enter the FlexNet Manager Suite UID, a value that uniquely identifies a tenant in a multi-tenant instance of FlexNet Manager Suite.

Flexera One IT Asset Management (ITAM) Settings

If you are integrating App Portal with Flexera One IT Asset Management (ITAM), do the following:

1. Select the ITAM Authentication Mode as Flexera One Identity and Access Management (IAM).
2. Enter the IAM Endpoint:
https://login.flexera.com/oidc/token (North America)
https://login.flexera.eu/oidc/token (EU)
https://login.flexera.au/oidc/token (APAC)
3. Enter the refresh token in the Flexera One API Refresh Token field. For information, refer to Generating a Refresh Token in the Flexera One help.

Note:If you have configured Flexera Authentication Gateway Service (AGW), note that, “AGW will be retiring soon! Please select 'Flexera One Identity and Access Management' ITAM authentication mode and then configure IAM Endpoint and Flexera One API Refresh Token.”

FlexNet Manager Suite On-Premises Settings

If you are integrating App Portal with FlexNet Manager Suite On Premises, and your App Portal system account does not have access to FlexNet Manager Suite On Premises, enter a Username and Password with appropriate credentials.

FlexNet Manager Suite Database Connection Settings

In order to use the My Apps feature, the App Portal system account needs to have read access to the FlexNet Manager Suite database.

First, enter the Database Server Name and Database Name of the FlexNet Manager Suite database. Then, use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and give the App Portal system account read access to this database.

Enable My Apps Feature?

Select this option to enable the My Apps tab, where users can view a list of all of the applications installed on their device(s) and address automatic and administrator-defined alerts to ensure that those applications comply with corporate software policies.

Important:In order to enable the My Apps tab, you must be also connected to FlexNet Manager Suite via the Flexera Service Gateway. For more information, see Enabling the My Apps Tab.

Enable My Apps Email Notifications?

Select this option to instruct App Portal to automatically send out an email notification to users each time an alert is generated for one of their installed applications.

Smart Uninstaller is deployed for License Reclamation?

Select this option to automatically include the AppPortal.SmartUinstall.exe file with deployed Windows Installer packages so that they could be automatically uninstalled as part of a license reclamation even an uninstallation program was not defined in the deployment technology for that application.

Note:Valid option for Windows Installer packages only.

License Reclamation Threshold

Identify the number of days that applications need to be unused in order to trigger the generation of an unused software alert, prompting users to either keep or uninstall the application.

Bypass Question for uninstall checkout

Select this option to specify that if a user is submitting a request for the uninstall of a catalog item, they will not be prompted to answer the catalog item’s associated questions.

Workflow Manager URL

You can configure an App Portal catalog item so that a Workflow Manager workflow request is automatically created when that catalog item is requested.

In this field, enter the URL to the Workflow Manager site that a user will be redirected to when they request a Workflow Manager-associated catalog item.

Note:When the Workflow Manager workflow request is completed, the status of the request in App Portal changes to Complete.
