Editing Rule-Based Dimensions

Important:To edit a rule-based dimension, you must have the Manage organization or Manage rule-based dimensions role. For complete descriptions of each role available in Flexera One, see Flexera One Roles.

You can edit only simple and basic rules on the Rule-Based Dimensions page. To edit rules with nested expressions, use the Rules-Based Dimensions API. For more information, see FinOps Customizations API.

To edit existing rule-based dimensions:

1.

Go to the Rule-Based Dimensions page (Administration > Cloud Settings > Rule-Based Dimensions).

From the Dimensions list, click the expand icon next to the dimension that you want to update.

Click the rules list that you want to update that contains the rules.

Note:You cannot update rules with nested expressions on the Rule-Based Dimensions page. For rules that contain multiple conditions, the Edit via api text appears next to the rule. These rules can only be updated through the Rules-Based Dimensions API. For more information, see FinOps Customizations API.

You can edit the following on the Rule-Based Dimensions page:

The effective month of the rules list by clicking the three dots icon in the upper-right corner of the Rules-Based Dimensions page and clicking Edit Rules List.

•

Rules—reorder, add, edit, and delete rules.

Note:For more information on these settings, see Creating Rule-Based Dimensions.

5.

Click Save. The rule-based dimension is updated.

Note:After you make rule changes, it takes 24 hours to process the change.
