Retired or Disposed Asset Inventory
Tip:This listing does not include any remote devices, which are not inventoried devices, but incomplete 'placeholder' devices created to track remote access such as through a Citrix Virtual Apps server. Remote device records are available by navigating to Inventory > Virtual Devices > Remote Devices. Similarly, virtual desktop templates are excluded here but are available through Inventory > Virtual Devices > Virtual Desktop Templates.
A helpful practice to discover inventory gaps is to look for the retired or disposed assets records with a recent inventory. For example, someone might have forgotten to change the status of an asset before bringing it into the network. The Last inventory date column will have a recent value for such records.
A device record may be transitioned between different inventory pages based on the following events:
• | If the status of the linked asset changes to anything other than Retired or Disposed, the device record disappears from this page. |
You can perform the following actions on this page:
Action |

|
Delete an inventory device |
See Deleting an Inventory Record. Note:Deleting a record updates the database immediately, as expected. However, instead of being deleted immediately, devices still required for those calculations are given an Archived status (and immediately moved to the Archived Inventory page). For more information, see About Deleting an Inventory Device. |
Create a saved view |
The Save view as feature of IT Asset Management enables you to create customized views of a page by saving the applied user interface settings. For more information, see Creating Saved Views. |
Properties Displayed on the Retired or Disposed Asset Inventory Page
For detailed information on the properties displayed in this list, see Inventory Listings Property Reference.
Note:Most lists in IT Asset Management only show a selection of the properties in the underlying database. Some columns are displayed by default and others can be displayed using the column chooser control, including any custom properties that you have added. For information on using the column chooser, see Managing Columns in a Table.
