All Discovered Devices

The All Discovered Devices page (Inventory > Network Discovery > All Discovered Devices) lists all the devices that have been discovered in your network.

Discovered device records may come from a variety of sources. Normally, the discovered device records are available immediately after data upload to the central application server, and do not rely on the license consumption (compliance) calculations (except for the case of catch-up discovery records created to align with imported inventory). Possible sources include:

The discovery processes specified in discovery (and inventory) rules, and executed by your inventory beacons.

Reporting from the Inventory Agent locally installed on a target device. For example, if the locally-installed Inventory Agent finds evidence of Oracle Database on the target device, it automatically returns a discovery file as well as inventory.
Automatic creation during import of inventory (including from third-party tools) where there is no pre-existing discovered device record to link to the inventory device record. Clearly, these records can only be available after the completion of the inventory import (usually associated with license consumption calculations).
Manual creation of the discovered device record (which you might do, for example, when you have a new device to add to your computer estate and want the record to exist for book-keeping purposes prior to its installation and subsequent automatic discovery).

By default, this page displays all discovered devices, but you can apply filters to restrict the number of records.
