Updating the Cognos Datasources
Cognos uses both FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Admin and Reporting databases as its datasources. If the database or database credentials have been changed, you may need to update or reset the datasources.
Before updating the datasources, ensure that:
| • | The Cognos server is running. |
| • | The following settings have been specified on the System Configuration | Reporting page (available under the Admin tab): Cognos server host, Cognos server port, and web services port. |
To update the Cognos datasources:
| 1. | From the Reporting tab, under Flexera Analytics, click Cognos Administration. |
| 2. | If you are using Oracle, you may need to provide different database service names while updating the datasources. To do this, provide service names in the Admin Server and Reporting Server fields in the Oracle Database Service Names box. (By default, these fields contain the database service names that were provided at installation time.) |
To reset the database service names to the original database service names that were provided in the Configurator at installation time, click Reset Service Names.
| 3. | Click Update Datasources to update the datasources that Cognos uses. |
