Configuring Alerts

You can configure alerts that can be used to notify specified users about different types of events or conditions. Alerts are not sent to users, however, unless a user subscribes to the alert. (See Creating or Editing Alert Subscriptions.)

Users assigned a role with the View and Manage Alert Configurations permission can configure the alert definition.

To configure an alert definition:

1. From the Alerts tab, under Alerts, click Configure Alerts to display the Configure Alerts page.
2. For the alert that you want to configure, click Configure. This displays the Configure Alert Definition page.
3. Specify the Detection and Notification Interval for FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications to check for the specific alert event or condition. You can specify a number of seconds, minutes, hours, or days.
4. Set the Status to Active.
5. Provide a From Address. This is used when an email is sent as the result of an alert being triggered.
6. Provide a path to a customized email template, if any, for this alert. For more information, see Customizing an Alert Email Template.
7. Click Save.
