IT Asset Management (Cloud)

When exporting from IT Asset Management for import into ServiceNow, a source of truth needs to be defined between systems in order to address any differences encountered during the merge. A set of integration properties are provided in ServiceNow integration application, see Flexera Integration > Integration Properties. The integration properties let you specify whether to accept IT Asset Management as the source of truth for various data types. Choosing No for any option toggles that setting to ServiceNow as the source of truth. For example, when merging inventory, if a record is not found with given criterion, a new record will be created if IT Asset Management is source of truth for Adding Inventories. Note: For records of hardware inventory and installed applications, IT Asset Management is considered the authoritative source of truth.

When exporting assets and contracts from ServiceNow for import into IT Asset Management, scheduled jobs need to be configured. For more information about scheduled jobs, refer to Setting Up Data Flows from ServiceNow to IT Asset Management. Then, the business adapters are used to import data into IT Asset Management. Assets and contracts are both set as the source of truth by default; however, you can edit the business adapters to change these settings. Note: For assets and contracts, ServiceNow is considered the authoritative source of truth.
