Deleting an Application Record

IT Asset Management (Cloud)
You can only delete the record of an application that has been created within your enterprise (when the Source column displays Local). You cannot delete any application recorded in the Application Recognition Library. If the application is a member of a suite, naturally the suite membership is removed when the application is deleted. If the deleted application is the parent (the suite itself), then the suite is removed, but the member applications remain as stand-alone applications.
Tip: Before deleting an application record, consider whether it is better to keep it in case of possible future audits. It may be a workable alternative to change its Status to Ignored (see Changing the Status of an Application).

To delete an application:

  1. Go to the All Applications page.
If you already know the status of the application, you can also choose to delete it from any of the following pages under Applications & Evidence > Applications:
    • All Applications
    • Installed Applications
    • Unmanaged Applications
    • Managed Applications
    • Deferred Applications
    • Ignored Applications
  2. Select an application record with the Local source, and click Delete.
You may wish to filter the list to show only applications where the Source column displays Local (see Using Filters to Limit Data Size).
A confirmation dialog appears. Click OK to confirm your intention.
The application, including its installation records, is removed from IT Asset Management.
