Create a Discovered Device

In most cases, the discovery device details are automatically created when you import the hardware inventory details through an inventory import. You may however need to add some devices that were not connected to your network at the time of inventory import or were not discovered for other reasons. You may also want add device details manually when new devices are received from suppliers.

To create a discovery device:

  1. Go to the All Discovered Devices page.
    You can also commence this process by:
    • Clicking the Create a discovered device button on the Unmanaged Devices page, or
    • Clicking the Create a discovered device button on the All Discovered Devices page.
    The General tab of the Discovered Device Properties page displays.
  2. Enter information in mandatory fields.

  3. Click Create.
    The device is created and the Status and the Inventory evidence tabs are enabled.
