Assets with Duplicate Asset Tags Report
The Assets with Duplicate Asset Tags report lists the details of assets that have duplicate asset tags. Operators with a focus on hardware asset management may want to generate this report weekly or monthly as part of a regular review process.
Generating the report
- Go to the Assets with Duplicate Asset Tags page.
- In the top left corner is a search field titled Enterprise. Click the search icon and choose the enterprise(s) to include in this report. For help with the search, see To Use a Fly-Down.
- Click Run report.
Reading the report
The following columns (listed alphabetically) are available in this list. By default, some are available through the column chooser.
Column name | Description |

Asset name |
The name given to identify this asset. Editable in the Name field in the General tab of the asset properties. |
Asset status |
Where this asset is within the asset life-cycle. The following options
are provided by default (however additional options may be imported using a business
adapter):

Asset tag |
The company-specific identification code assigned to this asset. Editable in the General tab of the asset properties. |
Asset type |
The kind of tangible asset, either as a type of inventory device (Laptop, Mobile Device, Server, or Workstation), or one of several other types of non-device assets. The Asset type value is editable in the General tab of the asset properties. |
Category |
The category chosen for this asset. Selectable in the General tab of the asset properties. |
Corporate unit, Cost center, Location |
The name of the related enterprise group. Selectable in the Ownership tab of the asset properties. |
Serial no. |
The unique identifier for the inventory device linked to this asset record. The manufacturer's serial number (where it exists) of the linked inventory device is automatically copied here whenever the linked inventory device is updated. Editable in the Serial number field in the General tab of the asset properties. |
