IT Asset Management 2023 R2.4 (Cloud)
The SAM Operations Hub renders important metric data pertaining to SAM performance by means of a KPI Dashboard tool, comprised of two visual widgets:
  • Operations KPI table: Lists a number of KPIs in one table and informs you how well they are performing. The Number of Issues column represents the number of issues found in the metric being measured. The Total scope column is the total scope of the assessed metric. The KPI value column is the percentage of issues found in the assessed metric. The performance color emphasizes how critical the issue is. Performance (Good, Fair, Bad) is based on hard coded ranges that are explained in the first column of the performance section of the table. Note that the last two items (Upcoming Contracts Renewal and Upcoming Subscriptions and Maintenances Expiry) are operational facts and are not assessed with a performance. Having 10% of your contract due for renewal in the next 90 days is not "good" or "bad".
  • Operations KPI (Trend) line chart: Each KPI trend is reported for one year. A decrease in the values for a KPI will show that actions have been successfully taken to solve the issues.
Note: Data from the KPI table and trend line chart is stored in a DataWarehouse database, and sliced by entity: location, cost centers and corporate units.

Enterprise Filter

When viewing KPI and trend data in the SAM Operations Hub, you have the ability to filter data by location, cost centers and corporate units. For example, if you want to filter data for specific regions, such as APAC and the UK (you can select sub-locations), you can do this by using the Enterprise Filter. All KPI calculations in the SAM Operations Hub are refreshed according to the Enterprise Filter. Note: KPI results and trend data is natively restricted to what the user is authorised to see. The following 3 KPIs are not restricted because their related objects are not linked to entities: Failed Tasks, Beacons With Issues and Aging Or Disabled Inventory Sources.

The KPI data displayed in the table and trend chart is generated by a daily script that slices the data by entity and stores the information in a Datawarehouse database. Each KPI links to a report or screen that provides further details. Each More Info link leads to the explanation section.
