SAM Hubs
IT Asset Management
2024 R1.4 (Cloud)
A SAM Hub is a process driven dashboard that aggregates information
related to a specific topic (such as Optimization,
Operation and Transparency) and
provides the following:
- KPI trends over time
- high level explanations
- metric drill down capabilities.
In each SAM Hub, you can drill down through your data by using the available widgets and snapshots, and for a deep dive, you can run detailed reports. The layout of each SAM Hub will include a widget section followed by an explanation section.
Data is refreshed at every reconciliation (this is the current snapshot displayed in the SAM Hub) and saved once a day and kept for weekly snapshots up to 3 months. Beyond 3 months, data is kept as monthly snapshots over a 3 year period. Data is stored in a data warehouse database.
Attention: Widget data is populated by a data warehouse export task that
gets triggered after the latest data reconcile. Depending on the volume of data,
this can result in a delay for fresh data to populate the Estimated
Savings vs. Classical Approach and Save By Taking Action:
Top 5 widgets.
Currently the following three Hubs are available.
- The SAM Optimization Hub provides analysis on achieved and potential license savings, aggregating the data from the various optimization reports explained in the SAM Optimization Hub Online Help.
- The SAM Operations Hub provides transparency on how well the SAM process is performing. It does this by surfacing KPI results and trend data, providing links to detailed reports and advising on what actions are needed to ensure the SAM process is being run efficiently.
- The SAM Publisher Hub provides visual summaries of how application publishers are being managed in your organization by consolidating publisher-centric data into one page in the form of various KPI snapshot and trend diagrams.
