Widgets

IT Asset Management 2024 R1.3 (Cloud)
The SAM Publisher Hub renders important publisher metric data pertaining to SAM performance by means of a KPI Dashboard, comprised of eight visual widgets:
  • Over Compliance: Top 5: Displays the top 5 over compliant licenses from the selected publisher. By clicking this widget, you are redirected to the License Properties screen.

The value of "waste" is computed by using (Purchased x Consumed x Price per right), where Price per right is the unit cost of one entitlement (or point, depending on the license type). This cost is taken from the first available of the following data points, from highest to lowest priority:

    1. The Amount field on the Financial tab of the license properties.
    2. The Override unit price field on the Purchases tab of the license properties.
    3. The Quantity nn at unit price field on the Financial tab of the properties of the purchase most recently linked to the license.

If a license has no Price per right defined, the dashboard will assign an arbitrary value of "1", to avoid licenses without financial information from staying under the radar. This approach is also used for the under compliance risk.

  • Over Compliance: Top 5 (Trend): Displays the historical trend data over the past 12 months of the top 5 over compliant licenses that represent a risk for the selected publisher.
  • Under Compliance: Top 5: Displays the top 5 under compliant licenses from the selected publisher. By clicking this widget, you are redirected to the License Properties screen.
  • Under Compliance: Top 5 (Trend): Displays the historical trend data over the past 12 months of the top 5 under compliant licenses from the selected publisher.
  • Optimization. Save By Taking Action: Top 5: Displays the top 5 licensed products for a single publisher. These top 5 licensed products are the top 5 optimization opportunities (as recommended by the "Oracle Optimum Virtual Target Architecture" and "Named User License Consumption and Optimization" reports) that have the largest potential savings for the selected publisher. Taking action, such as grouping common VMs into specialized clusters; uninstalling and cancelling user subscriptions for installed applications not in use, will help you implement best practices for server licensing and subsequently result in significant cost savings. The data is the same as in the SAM Optimization Hub, but grouped by product and not publisher. If data exists for the publisher in both reports, the widget will show no data. By clicking this widget, based on the publisher, you are redirected to either the "Named User Licenses Consumption and Optimization" report or "Optimum Virtualized Architecture for Oracle Options" report.
Note: This widget is restricted to authorized users only.
  • Optimization. Save By Taking Action: Top 5 (Trend): Displays the historical optimization trend (the results of your optimization efforts) over the past 12 months for the selected publisher. These efforts correspond to how you have optimized your infrastructure to minimize costs and license consumption. Taking action by running the available optimization reports, moving VMs and so on, have the potential to reduce costs over time. This effort is reflected in the line chart. Note: Overtime, the potential for optimization should decrease, based on your optimization efforts.
Note: This widget is restricted to authorized users only.
  • Installed Products: Top 20: Displays the top 20 installed commercial products from the selected publisher. By clicking this widget, you are redirected to the Publisher Properties screen, on which the Installed Application tab is highlighted.
Note: This widget is restricted to authorized users only.
  • Installed Products: Top 20 (Trend): Displays the historical trend data over the past 12 months of the top 20 installed commercial products from the selected publisher.
