Configuring Your Deployment Technology

App Portal 2020 R1

App Portal supports Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (current branch), Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, Altiris Client Management Suite 7.1 or later, AirWatch and MobileIron (for mobile applications), and JAMF Casper Suite 9.6.4 (for Macintosh desktop applications).

You connect App Portal to a deployment technology and enter configuration settings on the tabs of the Site Management > Settings > Deployment view.

• About deployment technologies—For detailed information about connecting to more than one deployment technology, see About the Supported Deployment Technologies.
• Common—To select the deployment technology that App Portal should use to perform specific tasks, make selections on the Common tab. See Entering Common Deployment Technology Settings.
• System Center Configuration Manager (current branch)—To connect App Portal to System Center Configuration Manager (current branch), enter server connection settings on the ConfigMgr tab. See Entering System Center Configuration Manager (Current Branch) Deployment Technology Settings.
• System Center 2012 Configuration Manager—To connect App Portal to System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, enter server connection settings on the SCCM 2012 tab. See Entering System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Deployment Technology Settings.
• Altiris—To connect App Portal to Altiris Client Management Suite, enter server connection settings on the Altiris tab. See Entering Altiris Client Management Suite Settings.
• AirWatch—To connect App Portal to AirWatch, enter server connection settings on the AirWatch tab. See Entering AirWatch Settings.
• Casper—To connect App Portal to Casper, enter server connection settings on the Casper tab. See Entering Casper Settings.
• MobileIron—To connect App Portal to MobileIron, enter server connection settings on the MobileIron tab. See Entering MobileIron Settings.

Important:Starting with App Portal 2013, your deployment technology is no longer specified during App Portal installation. Instead, you specify your deployment technology connection settings on the configuration screens displayed upon initial startup (as described in the Getting Started section under Specifying Deployment Technology Settings) or on the Site Management > Settings > Deployment view.
