Adding Triad License Servers
If your software publisher enables it, you can configure a triad license server to provide three-server redundancy for failover protection. In order to monitor and manage the activity of your license-server triad, you must add the triad to FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications using the Add Triad License Servers page.
Note:To add a single license server, use the Add Single License Server page. For information, see the topic, Adding Single License Servers.
To add a license server:
1. | From the Servers tab, under the License Managers section, select Add Triad License Servers. |
2. | In the License server display name field, provide a unique name for this license server. This name is used throughout FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications—in the user interface and in reports, for example—to identify the license server. |
3. | To enable automatic status updates for the license server, select the Automatic status updates check box. Select this option to automatically refresh the display of this license server’s status in FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications, at the selected interval. |
If this option is not selected, you will be able to refresh the display of this license server’s status only by clicking the license server’s Update status button on the License Manager Summary page.
4. | To automatically reread the server’s license files, select the Automatic license-file rereads check box, and specify an interval. Select this option to automatically reread the license files—specified in the License files or directories field (below)—at the selected interval. |
A license-file reread causes the license server manager to reread the license files and to start any new vendor daemons that have been added. In addition, all currently running vendor daemons are signaled to reread the license files and their options files for changes.
5. | Complete the license-server settings for each license server in the triad. Required settings are indicated by a red asterisk. |
